On 14-18 November 2022, “Don Orione” High School hosted several important events within the Erasmus+ project “Increase VET quality and attractiveness through 3D printing and robotics for a better insertion to labor market”. The activities comprised introductory courses and testing of the new curriculum in the field of robotics and 3D printing and the “RoboDon” competition.
Around 60 participants from the partner countries took part in the induction and testing of the new robotics and 3D printing curriculum, which is the “intellectual product” of two years of collaboration. Based on the collaboration protocol with the University of Oradea, Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering (relationship coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ovidiu Moldovan) and with the companies of the industrial park of Oradea (Valiant and Nidec Corporation), the project coordinator prepared challenging activities for both teachers and students.
Under the guidance of mentors from the University of Oradea, teachers from the pre-university level participating in the project exchanged experiences on robotics and 3D printing. At the same time, during the visits to the two mentioned companies, the students from the participating countries could understand the benefits that students from Oradea enjoy in their practice. The invited students were introduced to CATIA (computer-aided three-dimensional interactive application).
Thus, the four days marked the activities C2-“Short term joint staff training event” and C4-“Blended mobility for VET learners” of the project which has come to an end and which aimed at designing a curriculum in the field of robotics, as well as creating a kit for 3D printing.
